Hi! My name is Stephanie and in March my partner and I made the big decision to start the process of building our first home together. We chose Porter Davis because we liked the style and the inclusions they offered as well as wanting a different house to all the new ones going up in our estate. This Blog is to share our journey and map our progress of the build!
After tossing up between the floorplans for many homes we decided on two that we liked. The Vermont and a brand new design called the Liverpool. The liverpool was very similar to the Vermont except slightly smaller in size and it's featured as an Advantage home rather than a Lifestyle home so didn't come with a lot of the inclusions we liked... HOWEVER, because the base price for the Liverpool was about $50k less than the Vermont we added in all the inclusions we had our heart set on and it still came in just slightly under budget!!! Yay!
So come March we put our $2,000 deposit down to start the process. With 2 weeks we had a call from Porter Davis World of Style in Melbourne to arrange an appointment for us to choose all our colour selections. Since we only live 1.5 hours from there we thought it would be beneficial for us to drive down to WoS prior to our appointment to check out all the inclusions and options available to us. Lucky we did because it took us all day just to look around so going into the appointment blind would have been very overwhelming and tiring. Thankfully my partner and I have very similar taste so we can decide on colours quickly.
We have now been arranged a building co-ordinator (Lisa) and we have our WoS appointment on this coming Thursday which we are very excited for!
